McFarlane is Now Issuing FAA 8130-3 Airworthiness Approval Tags
An FAA 8130-3 tag is an optional tag issued by an FAA representative certifying that a part meets all FAA approved design data. Most FAA-PMA parts manufacturers do not currently issue these tags, but McFarlane has started supplying 8130-3 tags with all parts that we manufacture in order to promote industry standardization of replacement parts documentation.
It will take some time to upgrade our extensive inventory with the tags, so some parts shipped to customers will have 8130-3 tags and others will not. You can be assured that all McFarlane parts without the 8130-3 tags meet the same quality and approval standards as the parts shipped with the tags. The 8130-3 tag is an addition to our existing system of full traceability and documentation, and is not required for traceability or evidence of approval. Verification of authenticity or production history of any McFarlane part may be obtained by simply providing us with the Lot Number that is on every McFarlane part or part tag. Unlike many of the aircraft manufacturers, McFarlane does not charge for this service. An 8130-3 tag is not required for traceability of McFarlane products.
