Finally, there is a new alternative for replacing worn out baffle seals. We now have the long awaited Cowl Saver™ baffle seal material in stock and ready for shipment! Cowl Saver™ is a revolutionary new product. The material is a fiberglass reinforced silicone meeting the AMS3320G standard with a patent pending low friction surface on one side that has ten times less friction than typical silicone or rubber baffle seal material.

Typical baffle seal material has extremely high friction against an aluminum cowl. The high friction combined with the stiffness required for an airtight seal transfers engine vibration directly to the cowl. This causes damaging cowl fatigue, cracking, and chaffing; and results in expensive repairs. Cowl Saver™ baffle seal material provides a nearly frictionless surface dramatically improving vibration isolation between your engine and cowl.

“Years ago I noticed that after installing new silicone baffle seals, there was a dramatic increase in cowl cracking and fastener fretting. This product solves that problem.” said Dave McFarlane, General Manager of McFarlane Aviation Products and an A&P/IA with over 35 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
