New! FAA-PMA Nose Strut Seal Kits for Cessna Aircraft

Since McFarlane has now received FAA approval for manufacturing all of the components of the Cessna nose strut seal kits for most Cessna aircraft, we can now offer improved kits at a lower price. The new seal kit part numbers NSS-KT-1 and NSS-KT-2 contain all O-rings, back-up rings, scraper rings, lock rings and gaskets required to service a Cessna nose strut.

The McFarlane lock rings are manufactured with 304 stainless steel - an improvement over the original rings that are made with mild carbon steel. This provides better corrosion resistance with the same strength.

Main and nose strut seal kits are also available for Piper aircraft. To find the kit for your specific aircraft, go to Nose Strut Seal Kits.

Maintenance Tip:
Strut seal leaks and flat struts can be caused by roll or twist of the main O-ring seal. It is very frustrating to carefully check all the parts and surfaces and put a new seal kit in the strut, only to find it flat again after a relatively short time. We have seen this happen and offer some helpful tips. Click here to learn more.

All of these controls feature McFarlane's improved push-to-unlock mechanism with greater holding strength and longer life.

BlackSteel Brake Discs 
The high quality APS BlackSteel brake discs are one piece forgings, eliminating weld failures. BlackSteel forged discs are machined and then put through a proprietary heat treating process that strengthens the steel by bonding the carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen in the top layer of the metal. The process is not a coating, but a transformation of the top layer of the metal, providing corrosion resistance. The reduction of corrosion, pitting, rusting and longer service life result in enhanced safety, durability and value, while providing optimum braking performance and strength.

Metallic and Semi-Metallic Brake Linings
APS semi-metallic brake linings are impregnated with Kevlar fibers for optimum performance. APS metallic brake linings are constructed from an innovative design and durable materials, providing longer wear and superior stopping power for greater safety.

Rivets and Pins
Lining retaining pins are used on various metallic brake linings and rivets are used on various organic brake linings.
