McFarlane Aviation Products FAA-PMA Replacement Aircraft Parts

Environmental Awareness Month

For Environmental Awareness Month, we bring attention to our conservation, pollution, and sustainable efforts towards our future by recognizing our impact on our community and the planet. Over the years, we have continued to make intentional steps towards improving our efforts.

Products

We manufacture our products to not only last longer, work better, and save our customers money  but to positively impact our environment as well.

Fuel Vent Lines

The original fuel vent line on Cessna single engine aircraft allows fuel to continuously leak until the fuel is below the line itself. We redesigned a replacement vent line with an upright hump that rises above the top of the tank, eliminating fuel waste.

Fly Green, Fly MT

McFarlane holds hundreds of STCs for the installation of MT Propellers. MT composite propellers are not only made from renewable resources, but they have significantly reduced noise output and increased fuel economy for the lowest possible environmental impact of any propeller on the market.

Green Energy

In December 2010, we installed an 18kW solar power system on the roof of our facility. We saved tremendously on our electrical costs and energy, leading us to install an additional 100kW system in 2017. Our system is one of the largest in the state, providing about 1/3 of our electrical energy. Even through the dreary winter months, we were able to save over 5000 kg of CO2 use! In addition to our solar power systems, we use motion sensor lighting in many areas of our buildings to save energy. We also switched almost all of our fluorescent lights to LED in the last several years, saving energy and electrical costs.

Recycling

Parts Washer

Our state of the art parts washing machine washes our parts, while reclaiming the machining oil and any chips that were left in the parts. The oil is put back into the machine tools and the chips are sent off to a recycler where they become products once again.

Compressed Air

We also reclaim the compressor oil from the compressed air. This reclaimed oil is then sent out for recycling, along with oil from our lawn mowers, rental aircraft, fork lifts, and pick-up truck.

Put it in the bin!

All soda cans, plastic food containers, and bottles are collected for recycling in all our buildings.

Packing Materials for Distribution

Most of our packing materials used to ship product to our customers are recycled items from our employees, such as newspaper. We also reuse materials that were shipped with our resale items, and repackage our customer orders with the same material.

McFarlane Aviation is dedicated to taking continuous steps by manufacturing, engineering, and distributing products with the lowest possible environmental impact.
