1394T101-14RB Full-Featured Turn Coordinator

Brushless, panel-mounted turn coordinator designed to display combined rate-of-turn and rate-of-roll information as a rotating aircraft symbol, aiding pilots in performing standard-rate turns and maintaining control in partial-panel IMC conditions. This turn coordinator is the full-featured version of 1394T101-3B non-lighted version, offering autopilot output and tack output via a 5-pin connector, making it suitable for aircraft with wing-leveling autopilot systems that require a turn rate sensor input.

It displays combined rate-of-turn and rate-of-roll information as a rotating aircraft symbol, and includes a fluid-damped ball-in-tube inclinometer for slip/skid indication. The -14RB features a lighted bezel, accepts 11–32 VDC, and is the direct replacement for the 1394T100-14RB, as well as the previously consolidated -7RB, -10RB, and -12RB versions (per SIL 1394T100-02 and SIL 1394T101-01).

Certified to FAA/EASA TSO-C3e and software qualified to RTCA DO-178C Design Assurance Level A, the 1394T101 series contains no moving parts other than the displayed indication and operates silently.

Key Features:

• Autopilot output: Analog voltage proportional to sensed turn rate (±1.0 VDC = standard 2-minute turn / ±180°/sec); positive voltage = right turn; for wing-leveling autopilot integration
• Tach output: ~9 VDC when powered and operating normally; connects to indicator lamp or other status display
• Brushless motor design: No brush replacement required; 4,500-hour MTBF
• No moving parts: Silent operation; valid operation confirmed by absence of the red OFF flag and/or Tach output signal
• Lighted bezel: Compatible with 5V, 14V, or 28V lighting input (light tray options available separately)
• Standard 2-minute turn indication: Wingtip aligns with L/R hash marks at standard 180°/min turn rate
• Fluid-damped inclinometer: Ball-in-tube slip/skid indicator with white background and black ball
• HEA non-glare glass: Reduces cockpit glare for improved readability
• OFF warning flag: Red flag indicates instrument is inoperative
• 5-pin MIL-DTL-5051 connector: Mating connector: MS3106A14S-5S
• Front or rear panel mount: Fits standard 3⅛-inch round panel cutout; (4) #6-32 screws
• No scheduled maintenance required: No periodic calibration necessary for continued airworthiness
• Updated TSO-C3e certification: Supersedes 1394T100-14RB (and -7RB, -10RB, -12RB) per SIL 1394T101-01 and SIL 1394T100-02
