FAA-PMA Bendix 1200 Series Replacement Magnetos for Continental Engines

The PowerUp 1200 series offers FAA-PMA direct replacements for Bendix and CMI (formerly TCM) 1200 series magnetos used on Continental engines. Available with impulse coupling or Shower of Sparks ignition for both 4- and 6-cylinder applications, these units are backed by a full line of PMA replacement parts and comprehensive overhaul and 500-hour inspection services.

Designed as drop-in replacements for legacy Bendix 1200 Series magnetos, each unit features performance-engineered internal components for stronger ignition, reliable starting, and long service intervals.

Component improvements include:

• Impulse Coupling: Single-piece hub with no rivets, eliminates SB and AD concerns
• Capacitor: Internally grounded lead; square insulator and stud base for installation accuracy
• Coil: Higher spark output through thicker insulation and lamination plates that resist deformation
• Breaker Points: Metal frame clamping force and improved spring reduce point bounce and long-term drift
• Block Assembly: Arc suppression ribs minimize misfires; asymmetric design prevents incorrect installation
• Distributor Gear: Monel construction with heat-staked electrode for arc erosion resistance and stability
