Typical silicone rubber baffle seals have a coefficient of friction among the highest of any known material. This friction transfers engine vibration into your cowl and firewall, causing fastener fretting, fatigue, cracking, chaffing, and airframe vibration. Cowl Saver has 30x less friction than tradition silicone seals. We use Bi-Flex™ Technology, which offers flexibility to only the necessary areas. One side of Cowl Saver is silicone, while the other side is low friction Teflon coated rubber, which is unique to our baffle seal design.
