Repair or Replace?
The ingenious cam ball design that started in model 170 was simple, and proven very reliable. McFarlane has repaired many of these original Cessna valves, and we know them well. McFarlane engineers developed a new valve with several improvements to the original.

  • Improved corrosion resistance
  • Improved o-right retention
  • More balanced fuel flow
  • Fully inspected, functional, and flow tested to perform to the highest standards.
  • Our improved FAA-PMA parts save you money!

Many of the original valves have too much damage and corrosion to the main body, aluminum alloy cam, and fittings, as well as damaged o-ring retention area to effectively seal and be repaired cost-effectively.

McFarlane has a complete line of replacement parts for Cessna fuel valves including detent plates, springs, plastic seals, cams, and much more!

Only McFarlane has FAA approval to replace the old, less fuel resistant o-rings with the latest fuel-proof fluorocarbon o-rings!
Fuel selector valves and shut-off valve seal kits are conveniently packaged to include all of the necessary o-rings and/or gaskets applicable to specific single engine Cessna aircraft models. McFarlane replaces the old Buna-N or Nitrile (MS series) o-rings and early synthetic rubber (NAS series) o-rings with fluorocarbon elastomer, which has improved fuel and heat resistance. Cork/rubber gaskets meet tough government standards for fuel resistance.

Contains all required hardware to reseal and perform a basic repair ( seals, springs, o-rings, roll pins, washers, screws, balls and plug). All parts are FAA approved or certified industry standard hardware. Many Cessna fuel valves require special tools and processes for reassembly. For convenience, an experienced A&P technician at McFarlane can repair your valve.

Maintenance Tip!
The fuel selector valve works in unscreened fuel. Contaminated fuel can cause selector valve seal damage. When fueling from possibly contaminated fuel sources, McFarlane recommends the use of a micro-screened funnel, such as Mr. Funnel.

Notes:

  • Detent housing, handle, cam, detent plate, tube fittings, and/or drain fitting must be sent with the body of the valve as applicable to your valve.
  • The "S", "SF", or "SP" suffix indicates a McFarlane repaired valve. The applicable Cessna P/N is the McFarlane P/N without the suffix. Reference the Cessna P/N for all maintenance procedures.
  • 0513120 series valves: McFarlane will request your signature stating compliance with AD# 99-27-02. Please call 866-920-2741 for more information.
  • 0716613 series valves: These valves require a special tool and process for reassembly. Each valve is repaired using an FSO-KT-1 repair kit by an A&P mechanic and fully leak tested. You will receive a "Return to Service" tag to certify the repair.
