What is a good core return?

A good core retunr for a factory overhauled Slick Magneto is going to be a current series 4300 or 6300 Slick Magneto. If a new Slick Magneto is purchased, then older series Slick Magnetos can be considered for credit on a case by case basis.

Does this Magneto come with an impulse?

Check the "Detail" tab of the Slick Magneto that you are interested in buying and the Slick Magneto listed with a "Type: Impulsed" will come up with an impulse coupling.

According to the Slick Magneto by Champion Overhaul Manual L-1363F, the magneto should be overhauled at TBO, lighting strike, prop strike, sudden stoppage of the engine and immersion of the aircraft.

E-MAG Auto Spark Plug Adapters Individual

Individual auto plug adapters for use with E-MAG electronic ignition systems. These single-unit adapters convert the 18mm aircraft cylinder thread to a 14mm automotive plug bore. Select the correct reach to match your cylinder: Short Reach (~1/2" thread depth), Long Reach (~3/4" thread depth), or Extra Long Reach for recessed-bore applications.

EMC00101: short reach spark plug adapter
EMC00201: long reach spark plug adapter
EMC00301: extra long reach spark plug adapter

To identify your cylinder thread depth:

Short Reach (SR): Aircraft plug call-out contains the letter "M" (e.g., REM series). SR adapters reduce 18mm to 14mm thread for short reach (19mm) auto plugs (NGK BR8ES or BR8EIX).
Long Reach (LR/LRX): Aircraft plug call-out contains the letter "B" (e.g., REB series). LR adapters reduce 18mm to 14mm thread for long reach (26.5mm) auto plugs (Denso IKH27). LRX adapters are the same as LR except the hex head is extended to better fit certain Continental (six cylinder) heads where the plug insertion face is recessed.
Cylinder thread depth can also be measured directly. Short Reach (“SR”) adapters have external thread length of approximately 1/2”. Long Reach (“LR”) adapters have external thread length of approximately 3/4”.

Installation Note: Always install the spark plug into the adapter first (finger-tight and fully seated), then install the combined assembly into the engine. Torque to 18 ft/lb through the spark plug only, do NOT torque the adapter directly. Use anti-seize sparingly on the engine-side threads only.
