The E-MAG series electronic ignition systems provide a direct replacement for traditional magnetos on Lycoming and Continental 4- and 6-cylinder experimental engines. Featuring high-energy electronic ignition, variable spark timing, and self-powered internal alternators, E-MAG systems deliver smoother operation, improved fuel efficiency, easier starting, and added reliability.
Available in both variable-timing and fixed-timing configurations, each model is designed for straightforward installation with built-in LED/tone guided timing setup and no special tools required. Across the lineup, E-MAG brings modern ignition performance and dependable self-powered operation to experimental aircraft engines.

Complete Ignition Kits with all necessary components for installation also available:
EMAG Auto Spark Plug Adapter Bundles
Adapter kits convert the standard 18mm aircraft spark plug thread in your cylinders to accept 14mm automotive-style spark plugs for use with the E-MAG ignition system. Must match your cylinder thread depth (Short Reach or Long Reach).
E-MAG Auto Spark Plug Adapters Individual
Individual replacement auto plug adapters for E-MAG ignition installations. Used when replacing a single worn or damaged adapter without purchasing a full kit. Available in Short Reach (SR), Long Reach (LR), and Extra Long Reach (LRX) configurations to match your cylinder thread depth. Match adapter reach to your engine's cylinder bore depth.
Individual auto plug adapters for use with E-MAG electronic ignition systems. These single-unit adapters convert the 18mm aircraft cylinder thread to a 14mm automotive plug bore. Select the correct reach to match your cylinder: Short Reach (~1/2" thread depth), Long Reach (~3/4" thread depth), or Extra Long Reach for recessed-bore applications.
To identify your cylinder thread depth:
Installation Note: Always install the spark plug into the adapter first (finger-tight and fully seated), then install the combined assembly into the engine. Torque to 18 ft/lb through the spark plug only, do NOT torque the adapter directly. Use anti-seize sparingly on the engine-side threads only.
